National drug treatment waiting times - Quality Assurance Statement

The drug treatment waiting times data reported on these pages are subject to quality assurance processes that lie outside of ISD within Alcohol and Drug Action Teams (ADATs) and local drug treatment services.

Drug treatment agencies should submit data to ADATs on every new client entering treatment, and inform ADATs when key events happen; for example, when an appointment is offered or the assessment process is completed. If treatment agencies do not inform ADATs about such events then these are not recorded in the reports produced and subsequently the recorded waiting times will be increased.

ISD produces the reports on these web pages solely from the aggregated data received from ADATs. It is known that the quality of these data varies between ADAT areas and within ADATs over time. Caution is required when attempting to compare between ADATs or within ADAT areas over time.
