Most of the statistics in relation to substance use in the 2004
Scottish Schools Adolescent Lifestyle and Substance Use Survey (SALSUS)
national report were first issued in the Interim Report in November
2004. The survey is part of the biennial series of secondary school
surveys on smoking, drinking and drug use commissioned by the Scottish
Executive. The full report of the 2004 survey is published today.
The report provides more detail around these statistics and some
information on contextual social and lifestyle factors. The series
since 2000 provides local and national information and national
information only, in alternate surveys. In 2004 the information
provided is Scotland level information only.
