This compendium of local statistics on alcohol and drug use brings together local data from available national sources. The statistics are primarily intended to provide easily accessible information to Alcohol and Drug Action Teams to support local planning and service provision. Similar statistics were previously provided in Local Alcohol Profiles (2004 and 2006), published on the web; and in annual management information for alcohol and drugs (Information Packs) provided to Alcohol and Drug Action Teams for use in completing Corporate Action Plans.
The statistics cover both newly analysed data and previously published data. Data already published at local level are not reproduced here, a link is provided to the original source, specifying the appropriate page or table number. Some local data on hospital admissions was included with the last national update of alcohol related hospital statistics in December 2007. The statistics provided here show a more detailed breakdown of the same figures.
