Media Monitoring Policy for Drug Misuse Information Scotland Website

The remit of the website is to support the Scottish Drug Misuse Information Strategy by providing an information-sharing portal for all professionals in the field of substance misuse.

The general purpose of the media monitoring section is to provide professionals with a snapshot of substance misuse related media comment. The website should provide an independent daily snapshot of drugs related media comment.

We aim to be representative rather than comprehensive and try to cover the main Scottish stories, along with some stories from the rest of the UK.

As part of our commitment to ensure that the articles we link to are relevant we don’t link to sites that have a policy of rotating content as the content of the page can change without our knowledge.  This can be confusing to readers who find they are viewing an article that is not related to substance misuse.  Our choice not to link to articles on these sites should not be seen as a judgement on the content or quality of the articles, but as part of our efforts to maintain a valuable information resource.
