The Alcohol Information Scotland website provides a wide range of information on alcohol for Scotland. This includes statistics, research, publications, key policy documents and practice guidelines as well as links to useful websites. Up to date news is reported through daily media monitoring.

Health Scotland aim to ensure "that people have adequate information about health and the factors which influence it" in Scotland.
•Scottish Health Statistics
Scotland has some of the best health service data in the world. Few other countries have information which combines high quality data, consistency, national coverage and the ability to link data to allow patient based analysis and follow up.
 
•Scottish Public Health Observatory
The ScotPHO website is a collaborative venture led by ISD Scotland and NHS Health Scotland. Along with summary data and statistics, the website provides background information, interpretation, policy notes, data sources, references and links to further information for a wide range of topics related to the health of the Scottish population.

•The Scottish Centre for Infection and Environmental Health (SCIEH)
The Scottish Centre for Infection and Environmental Health (SCIEH) is responsible for the national surveillance of communicable diseases and environmental health hazards and the provision of expert operational support on infection and environmental health to health boards and local authorities in Scotland.
•Clinical Resource and Audit Group
The Clinical Resource and Audit Group is the lead body within Scottish Executive Health Department promoting Clinical Effectiveness in Scotland.

•National Collaborating Centre for Drug Prevention
The NCCDP is funded by the Health Development Agency and is part of a UK wide network of Collaborating Centres established by the HDA to help build the evidence base in public health and to provide evidence about how to reduce inequalities in health.

The NTA aims to increase the availability, capacity and effectiveness of treatment for drug misuse in England.
 
•Substance Misuse Management in General Practice (SMMGP)
Substance Misuse Management in General Practice (SMMGP) is a developing network to support GPs and other members of the primary health care team who work with substance misuse. The project team produces the Substance Misuse Management in General Practice newsletter (Network), and organises the annual conference 'Managing Drug Users in General Practice'.

•National Institute on Drug Abuse - US

NIDA was established in 1974, and in October 1992 it became part of the National Institute of Health and plays an important role in programs of drug abuse research.

•National Institutes of Health (NIH - US)

Founded in 1887, the National Institutes of Health today is one of the world's foremost medical research centers, and the Federal focal point for medical research in the U.S. The NIH, comprised of 25 separate Institutes and Centers, is one of eight health agencies of the Public Health Service which, in turn, is part of the US Department of Health and Human Services.

•Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration

SAMHSA is an agency of the US Department of Health and Human Services charged with improving the quality and availability of prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation services.
