This is the first in a series of short reports
on the findings from an evaluation of the Scottish Prison Service
Transitional Care arrangements. This report presents the results
of interviews with staff involved in Transitional Care, and provides
information about their reviews of the assessment and referral process
in particular. The next report – based on a survey of, and
in-depth interviews with, ex-prisoners offered Transitional Care
– will be available in June 2004. A final report of the evaluation
will be published in August 2005.
