Drug Misuse in Scotland Website

This site supports the implementation of the Scottish Drug Misuse Information Strategy. The site disseminates Scottish (national and local) information, statistics and research relating to drug misuse. Information elsewhere in the UK and Europe is also presented.

The key target groups are those involved or working in the field of drug misuse including treatment, criminal justice, education and community development. These include the:

  • academic community including researchers
  • drug action teams and constituent agencies
  • drug enforcement services
  • drug treatment and referral services
  • government ministers and officials

The site contains a wide range of links to relevant publications and reports. The most up to date information is collated and presented on:

  • effective practice guidance
  • information, statistics and research
  • media comment
  • policy and strategy developments

In addition the site has three partner organisations, offering each a distinct web presence as a platform to disseminate. Each site partner has a nominated co-ordinator who is responsible for providing appropriate content for their specific pages. These site partners are:

  • Drug Action Teams (including the DAT Association)
  • Scottish Executive, Effective Interventions Unit
  • ISD Scotland, Drug Misuse Information Strategy Team
